Un éléphant torturé une victime!!!!!!!

cet éléphant a été torturé, brûlé avec de l'essence car il était sur son territoire et a voulu le défendre !!

Les constructions vont de plus en plus prendre l'habitat des éléphants et autres animaux, c'est terrible, les gens sont monstrueux !! Ils disent qu'ils sont chez eux et ils oublient que ces animaux étaient là avant !!

Lamentable !!

This has reference to the horrific torture meted out to a tusker in Orissa by a frenzied mob. Apparently, this tusker had killed some people and destroyed crops. Irate villagers chased him away with burning tyres. A little later, a mob collected and doused the hapless tusker with petrol. Then a mob poured petrol upon the poor tusker, blocked off escape routes and set the poor beast on fire!

Screaming with pain and disoriented, RTO tried to flee for his life. But the bloodthirsty mob beat drums and set off firecrackers in order to block every possible route of escape. The animal crashed down to his knees and feebly attempted to get up. The mob cheered wildly. Poor RTO found himself on the verge of collapse.
According to newspaper reports, 48 hours after the incident, the Assistant Conservator of Forests, Bimalendu Acharya, said that he had no information on the matter but would start an inquiry.

It was said that people repeatedly appealed to the authorities in Orissa to capture this tusker and house it in a zoo or biological park, and yet--it is said--the said authorities did nothing.

You must surely agree that this habitual and systemic inefficiency, sloth and complete inaction is unpardonable. In all such cases, zoo authorities and forest department officials ought to take the right action by capturing animals which are considered dangerous. This tusker ought to have been sedated and captured years ago.

Dithering and delaying endlessly during crises not merely endangers the lives of animals and people but also conveys a very poor impression of the ability of the authorities to take any kind of action in any emergency.

I also urge you to relocate the elephant to a sancturary.
